Darci Lenker is a fiber artist specializing in thread painting, a form of embroidery where many layers of threads are used to create detailed images. She finds inspiration anywhere there are interesting colors, textures, light and shadows and enjoys the challenge of portraying that into art using a single strand of thread. She is currently working on a series of portraits and commissioned art. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Art in Formation Art from UCO, and currently lives in Norman. She was part of ArtNow 2019 at Oklahoma Contemporary and had a series of work on display at Science Museum Oklahoma as part of the Cosmic Culture exhibition.
