This beginner-friendly course is an introduction to the potter’s wheel. Each student will discover and practice the fundamental techniques of throwing — preparing, centering and pulling clay — and acquire the skills necessary to create a variety of clay vessels. Students will also investigate a variety of clay surface options, including slip application, underglaze, wax resist, glaze application and firing methods. This course will take place outside with masks required and social distancing enforced. Registration closes Sunday, April 4 at 11:59 p.m.
