Spice up your wheel throwing repertoire! This course will focus on wheel-thrown forms that are altered and reassembled at the leather-hard stage of the clay using hand-built clay slabs. Students will explore faceting, darting, paddling and carving techniques while creating a series of unique clay vessels. The class will also investigate a variety of clay surface options including slip application, underglaze, wax resist and glaze application methods. This course will take place outside with masks required and social distancing enforced. Registration closes Sunday, April 4 at 11:59 p.m.
