Studio-in-Place: Danny Joe Rose III
Join Oklahoma Contemporary online this summer as select Studio School Instructors spend one month working on projects related to themes of creativity, community and resilience in the time of COVID-19. Through biweekly interviews, livestreamed videos and other engaging content, you’ll get an inside glimpse into the creative working processes of contemporary artists at home and in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studio facilities.
About Danny's July Studio-in-Place project
View From the Valley is a continuation of an ongoing project in which Danny Joe Rose III uses found images and digital processes to create a series of abstract, alien-like landscapes. For his digital residency with Oklahoma Contemporary, he is inviting the public to assist in the creation of these worlds by submitting one to three photographs plus a sentence or two about their submissions. He feels that in such uncertain times these places can offer us a moment of shared solace. He is suggesting participants submit personal images of landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, plants, flowers and textures.
