Oklahoma Contemporary is proud to serve as the official hub for the 25th annual deadCenter Film Festival! Since launching in 2001 at Oklahoma Contemporary's old art space at the Fairgrounds, deadCenter has grown — becoming an important incubator in the state’s moviemaking community, as well as offering workforce development opportunities for high school students and skill-building workshops for emerging filmmakers. As Oklahoma’s largest and only Oscar-qualifying film festival, deadCenter is the best place to see exciting new shorts, insightful documentaries, hilarious comedies, hair-raising thrillers and the very best independent films from around the world and all over Oklahoma. Did we mention the legendary parties, networking events and Oklahoma ICONS? There's something for everyone at the 25th annual deadCenter Film Festival.
We will be hosting deadCenter Film Festival registration, Festival Pass pickup, the Continuum Panel Series, the deadCenter Awards, special screenings and the World Premiere of OKCThunder Films' latest production, Incomprobable. This year's lineup includes a special oral history film featuring on-view artist Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds. “We’ll be hosting our awards gala Saturday evening at Oklahoma Contemporary's Te Ata Theater. All are welcome, but we are asking those who want to join us to reserve their spot. Oklahoma Contemporary's North Lawn will be open to anyone who wants to enjoy the free outdoor screenings after the ceremony," said Cacky Poarch, deadCenter executive director.
