Kau’i Kanahele is responsible for coordinating innovative programs with a particular focus on teen, youth, family and intergenerational learning as the coordinator of teen and youth programs. She works with the manager of Youth and Family Programs and facilitates a variety of programs, including Teen Arts Council, Camp Contemporary and Second Saturday as well as other youth-related workshops.
Kau’i was first introduced to Oklahoma Contemporary as a youth enrolled in Camp Contemporary. She has worked passionately to keep the youth in her community connected with their creativity. As an educator, Kau’i had the privilege of teaching students at Oklahoma City Girls’ Arts School.
Kau’i earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2018. She completed her education with an emphasis in and a love of sculpture.
