
As Events Manager, Katie Long promotes, manages and executes all private event rentals in event spaces across Oklahoma Contemporary’s campus.
Katie began their career path working as assistant office manager at a family business. After 11 years, they moved into the food-and-beverage industry as an assistant general manager at The Barrel. After opening this location, they worked as a booking agent at Box Talent for five years until joining Oklahoma Contemporary as a development officer in October 2019. Katie transitioned into the Events Manager position in January 2021.
Katie is passionately involved with many local nonprofit agencies, as a board member for the Oklahoma Eating Disorders Association (OEDA), a founding board member and the current President of Annie Lillard Legacy, Inc., and a volunteer with Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma, Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County, Calm Waters, Sisu Youth and deadCenter Film Festival. Additionally, they are involved with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s InternOKC program and other Chamber-related programs and events.
Katie attended the University of Oklahoma on an academic scholarship and majored in Accounting. They enjoy spending time with their family and friends, playing on a weekly billiards league and dabbling in various artistic hobbies, such as painting, crochet and embroidery. Katie is an avid traveler and enjoys learning new languages and exploring unique cuisines on their adventures. They were born and raised in Oklahoma City, where they still reside.
