As visitor experience manager, Chris works with all departments to ensure a fun and artistically fulfilling experience is had by everyone who visits Oklahoma Contemporary. A veteran member of the Visitor Experience team, Chris is deeply knowledgeable about all of Oklahoma Contemporary’s goings-on. If provoked, he can talk your ear off about the benefits of our membership program, the fascinating qualities of our exhibitions or all of the engaging experiences to be had at our various public programs and performances. As a life-long creative and ardent supporter of the arts, extolling the virtues of Oklahoma Contemporary’s mission comes naturally. Visitors to the center have a pretty good chance of running into Chris, be it in The Studios, galleries or at the front desk.
It was Chris’ partner’s contract with the Oklahoma City Ballet that originally brought this Wisconsinite from Milwaukee to OKC. Here, he completed his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma City University, earning a literature degree and receiving the 2017 award for Outstanding Student in English. After graduation and prior to joining the Oklahoma Contemporary team in 2020, Chris mostly worked as a baker. Today, you can find his rustic sourdough bakes on the shelves of the Flora Bodega Co-Op in the Paseo Arts District, sold under the moniker Slow Crumb.
When he’s not baking or working around the arts center, Chris fills his free time reading, biking and making music.
