Meet the Unexpected, Collector Chris Keesee.
I was excited to speak with this globetrotting art mogul and businessman named Christian Keesee (pronounced kuh-see’). A guy that loans exhibitions to major museums (Tomás Saraceno’s Cloud City to The Met) and launches shows at his own venues (Gonzalo Lebrija at Marfa Contemporary). An entity that gets ink in mainstream media and artstream media alike. One of those people who has “it” - the ability to effectively create at will. To seemingly do whatever he chooses, with whomever he chooses, whenever he chooses. He chooses Art.
So what I thought was going to be a conversation about contemporary art, the importance of medium grays in vintage photography, and, possibly, where to eat in Chelsea turned to something most unexpected. Education.
