Intro to Fashion Illustration

Ages 16+

Sketch and experiment with different techniques to create a final illustration concept for presentation and display. This class will walk students through different forms, styles and techniques of fashion illustration. It will be a highly visual and hands-on class that will allow students  to explore and come up with their own techniques or build on any existing ones.

The best person to tell your story is you. In this eight-week memoir class, learn tips and tricks to craft your life stories. Study written examples, engage in writing activities and share your work with your classmates.

Drawing I

Eight-week class

A beginning-level drawing course for students with basic experience. Students build on seeing form through the use of light and shadow, texture, line and color. Still lifes are used to help students learn the techniques of perspective, foreshortening and representation of drapery.

Figure Drawing

Students learn to render the human figure quickly and accurately by working each week with live models. Early efforts focus on creating quick gestural drawings. As the class progresses, an emphasis is placed on expressive line, value, perspective and proportion. Glen gives weekly demonstrations and provides individual attention throughout. Basic drawing skills are recommended.

Acrylic Painting Masterclass with Bert Seabourn

Explore the bridge between realism and abstraction while painting alongside renowned artist Bert Seabourn. This intermediate to advanced level class focuses on creating unique works through fusion of design, color, form and composition. In addition to painting techniques, an introduction to transfers and collage is tailored to the development of each artist. All students receive individual attention.

Basic Water Media

Learn the basics of painting with water-based media (acrylic, watercolor and ink). This simple approach to learning the ropes of water media will have you painting faster and better than you thought you could. Challenge yourself and overcome the obstacles that have kept you from painting. This class will provide an escape from the reality of your daily schedule. You will learn how to control the flow of paint and when it is best to lose control of it. Step out of your comfort zone and take hold of a brush. You may just become obsessed with creating your own works of art!

We will study aerial perspective and the effects of color and value within composition. In addition to learning the mechanics of painting, students will gain knowledge in creating a unique painting of their own. Class will be taught with handouts and individual instruction.
