From screen to canvas, campers will create works of art inspired by their favorite Pixar films! With mixed media pieces, wearable art and group installations, this camp will be the ultimate spring break experience!
Grades K-1 | Lots-a-Dots
Instructor: Debbie Elledge
Taking inspiration from artist Yayoi Kusama, campers will be seeing lots-a-dots this week! Dots will be used to create repetition, texture and patterns in the paintings and prints they create. Campers will also use re-purposed objects to make a colorful 3-D sculpture.
Grades 2-4 | Cartoon Creators
Instructor: Danny Gordon
During this camp, campers will learn how to create their own wacky cartoon characters! They'll put their characters to work and in action in three-panel cartoon strips, complete with speech bubbles and backgrounds.
Grades 2-4 | Creative Robotics
Instructor: Angel Little
Add science to your art! Creative Robotics is a STEAM-based program that introduces the concepts of artistic engineering through simple mechanical and algorithmic exploration. Students will learn the basics of functional coding, creative designing and the If-Then-Else approach to problem-solving. Campers will be able to identify with the common stages of mechanical engineering, expressions and creation mapping as well as team-based development. At week's end, each camper will have built a LEGO Technic Getaway Racer to take home!
Grades 5-6 | 3-D Sculpture Building
Instructor: Autumn Brown
In this camp, students will spend a week designing and creating their own mythical creature out of paper mache, paint and other mixed-media materials. They'll explore the concepts of 3-D sculpture building and use contemporary techniques along with the traditional process of paper mache to construct their creature.
