Steve Boyd is a museum professional with more than 16 years experience in museums and private practice.
Prior to joining the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center team, Steve worked at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in several capacities, including assistant registrar and most recently chief preparator overseeing exhibition design, lighting and installation. Additionally, he has a background in visual merchandising along with furniture design and fabrication.
Steve studied history and museum studies at the University of Central Oklahoma and received training at the prestigious Campbell Center for Historic Preservation. He has taught exhibition workshops for the Oklahoma Museums Association and is active in the local arts community, having served as a volunteer and committee member for more than 15 years for such organizations as Arts Council of Oklahoma City, Allied Arts, Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, Oklahoma City Museum of Art and Firehouse Art Center, among others.
His interests include fly fishing, hunting with his German shorthaired pointer, Avery, kayaking, spending time with his family and striving to smoke the perfect brisket.
Steve lives in The Village with his wife and daughter.
